“Portals” was our third project with Amir H Fallah, and marked or first public art collaboration with the artist. Designed by Amir, the work was commissioned by the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture for the new home of the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health. Atop of the 8th floor terrace of the new LA County Mental Health building on the 500 block of Vermont Ave. in Korea Town, sits these 3 free standing installations. Each piece consists of 9 hand crafted, painted, and leaded panels which are laminated to tempered safety glass and installed in a custom steel framing system.
